One of the best albums I've come across since I've come back to listening to a lot of screamo recently. Truly chaotic and overall a blitz of sound from start to finish.

Revisiting funeral doom and remembered this album is an absolute gem. From the punishing riffs to the funeral synth lines, an absolute experence from start to finish.

Genuinely an album of it's era, Katatonia's 1996 release of Brave Murder Day holds up as one of the strongest albums in the death-doom genre as well as one of the strongest albums of the 90s as a whole. A perfect mix of the extreme metal genres forming in the decade along with the atmosphere of 80s goth.

Starting the year off strong with one of the most elegant blackm metal releases I've heard in awhile. "Liber Lvcifer II" has all the hallmarks of a strong hellenic release, from chanting, to chaotic blastbeats, to the classic calls for satan.

Another highschool favorite of mine. SubRosa outputs a unique form of sludge metal with crushing riffs, atmospheric string layering, and female vocals. Extremely emotional at times.

A favorite of mine from when I was in highschool. Comus's First Utterance is a one of a kind album, a perfect mix of the oddities of the late 60s folk and psychedelic atmosphere.

Came across this again recently. Exuma’s self titled is truly something that only could have come out of the late 60s / early 70s as a trip between tribal chants and psychedelic sounds.

It's probably my favorite album of David's since the turn of the century. If A City Is Set Upon A Hill mixes children's lullabies with neofolk and the vocal work that Current 93 is best known for.

One of the gems of the dungeon synth genre, Enchantment Of The Ring is packed with some of the best atmosphere that the genre has to offer.
From ambient guitar overlays to dreamy pad synths, it has become a foundational layout for the genre as it is now.

Birch Book exemplifies some of the best music that the neo folk genre offers, with both tracks holding a very peaceful atmosphere rarely found in the genre. This release is part of a larger folk influened compilation that spans many amazing artists.

Another amazing album that stuck with me after highschool. Coldworld since has produced some of the highest grade material out of black metal genre, from blackgaze, to traditional black metal, to atmo black.
